A few years back, my family and I had a mini photoshoot at some studio. We had the chance to play dress up! I was the one who was really excited because taking pictures and dressing up was my favourite thing to do when i was young! (It still is but i can't tell if it gotten worst or no). There were three theme to this photoshoot. First one being malay traditional wear, second would be Japanese wear and kimonos thing and last but not least, *starts singing Suit and Tie* fancy-pantsy wear! 

I loved every single shot they took of us. If i had the chance to do a photoshoot with my family again soon, i'd half-heartedly would go for it. 

3d model

Here is a picture of my my 3d class project i did with the help of an angel (hahahaha)! This is a.. *drumrolls* a chariot! I know you must be wondering how in the world is that a chariot. I honestly think it does not look like a chariot but A for effort, yes?! Let me explain. I had to break apart a toy piano for construct a different thing. After much thinking (trust me), voila! That was what i came up with. A foam already shaped like a 'chair', two handles i broke apart to make the strap, used batteries as legs, a round speaker thing as its head and bits and pieces of loose plastic things to make the face, feet, tail and the wheel of the chariot!

It looks pretty decent...... right? But yes this would be the last time i am ever going to make a 3d sculpture.

Let me just say.. HOW YUMMY DOES THAT LOOKS? It tastes even better! My dear friend Val baked cupcakes for us! Or should i say some, because it was only good for 12 people! The lucky ones did not have to share.. hehehe. The unlucky ones had to! but it's all good because they don't mind. Ha! But anyways how thoughtful is she? It has chocolate chips inside and nutella at the top. It is a little bit sticky to be honest. It gets stuck around my mouth and my teeth would be covered in nutella. But i honestly don't mind going for seconds..... Oh wait i did! HAHAHA.

 Oh i feel like i'm drooling at this very moment... 

Awards Night - Cotton On style!

I went for a company event around mid this year. I worked at Cotton On, if some of you guys don't know.

Anyways, it's called Awards' Night where they give a little recognition to everyone who has worked at Cotton On. Not everyone is invited though. I managed to go because i was good friends with my manager and she was actually the one who wanted me to attend so i said why not! It took part at a club called 'The Dream'. Yes i know you might be thinking something along these lines.. 'Omg Adlyn clubs, who knew?!' She probably drinks as well!' It was actually my first time going to a club and i must say.. it was not that fun. Considering the fact that i WAS underage (i was 17 at that time), i could not join the party downstairs. It was a double storey club. I was literally escorted to the second floor because i was underage. I could not drink (I don't anyways), i could not join my friends (They're 20 and above) downstairs to party. Yeah i was pissed at first but i cooled down when the bouncers took care of me like i was some VIP. They offered me drinks, food and escorted me to EVERYWHERE I went. Crazy!! I made friends before, during and after the event! Aha!

Oh i forgot, i had free flow of.... Coke! AHA! Be jealous!!!

At first, i actually just drew her normal self. It turned out.. honestly good. It's not that bad. i worked hard on it. Took me a whole lot of whiles to get it done. To perfect it basically. But i decided to be just a little crazy and started adding colours and shapes on her face?! Experimenting is what i should say! Since i have the dreams of becoming an artist who specializes in portraits, i should practice and explore a little bit more? Yes i should!

I miss.....

I miss working at Cotton On. That was honestly the biggest turning point of my life. 

After I finished my secondary school life, i had nowhere to go so they took me in! So grateful that i got this job. Working with all my colleagues was the best thing i could ever ask for. They taught me a lot of things. They made me feel like i was a part of their family! We had a lot of ups and a hell lot of downs but never fail to work things out. I had the luxury of using my staff discount *cough* 50% *cough* which a lot of people got to know about and ask for it from me. YOU ARE WELCOME PEOPLE WHO ASKED ME FOR IT.

I have friends who visited me while i was working because i complained to them that i was working alone. Colleagues who came down to help one another out on our days off. (Usually i am the one doing that! hahaha!) But along the way, unpretty things happened and that was pretty much the end of my Downtown East Cotton On chapter in my life. 

i will forever be grateful to the people i've met in CO.

Me and my two other friends were invited to my workmate's brother's wedding at Marine Parade. Although we have never met her brother, it was nice of her to invite us. The wedding was beautiful and may god bless them with all the happiness they deserve! 

But anyways, i came to the wedding mainly for..... the food! aha! I love and am a huge fan of wedding food. They are cooked to perfection. I am not even joking. No food is better than wedding food, in my opinion. As i am typing this, i can feel myself drooling. Nasty. They also served a lot of desserts! Cake and finger food. Not literally fingers but.. you catch my drift. There was also a ice cream stand which is awesome. And guess what..... IT WAS FREE. *screams and run around like a maniac*

I really enjoyed myself there and maybe who knows one day when i get married, i'll have my own ice-cream stand!

I went to KL in mid June. A short getaway, you might say. I've talked about it a little in one of my other post but take this as part 2! I am planning to go back to KL during my term break in November. A month (or more) of no school is what i really need right now. Anyways, me, my cousin and the rest of the KL crew were thinking of hiking. I cannot remember the last time i went hiking. It probably never happened but i am pretty sure it did. I was thinking of staying in KL a little bit longer, maybe a week? Why not! I would have the chance to explore and learn a thing or two about KL. I am sure shopping is not the only reason that people comes back to KL every single time!

This was the first time in my 18 years of living in Singapore, that i tried 18 chefs! It was a good first experience. I went with my best friend, and she was the one who paid for my meal as a birthday lunch. Aha! That was a bonus. We had a 'theme' for our outing. It is to wear long dresses. I wore my dress that i bought from h&m which i love! Definitely worth my $40 (or $60, can't remember) After lunch, we walked around Somerset and shopped a little. We bought clothes from Cotton On and H&M. 

It was definitely a good day.

I found my old kindergarten class picture while cleaning out my room. I was in awe when i saw it. Time flies so fast. People grew up and moved on from one another! I have not seen any of them for the longest of time. It would honestly be great to be able to call any of them and be like, 'Hey! Remember me? I was in your class in kindergarten!' Life was so much easier back then. No worries, no stress, no heartbreaks, just the normal knee-scraping to the floor' experiences. If i could, i would rewind time to take me back to that very moment. 

What i feel about things

This is honestly the most ridiculous picture i have ever posted of myself on this blog. But.. This is how i truly feel about things sometimes. I cannot take things too seriously. I would end up being stressed and emotionally tired. If you know me, you would not want that to happen. I am a big baby when it happens. My mood swings would be switched on 360 degree 24/7. I would rather just do things my way than someone pressurizing me to get things done their way. 

Life is too short to be stressed out, unhappy and boring. Take a risk, take a crazy picture and let loose. You'll thank me one day. 

What i am busy with most of the time

I cannot even deny the fact that what i am busy with most of the time would be my hair. My hair is what make or break me. She's my life saver and also the one that causes me pain and suffering. I am a little bit over dramatic but i speak the truth and only the truth! We have a love and hate relationship because on some days, she is really stubborn and on some other days, we work really well together. I have never dyed my hair, or straightened it, or whatever to my hair. I would do it one day but not right now. Maybe when i have moved out of my parents' house. *cues evil laughter*

Pretty colours

This was what i bought before i started schooling in NAFA. 

Two A4 sized notebooks that i bought from Typo and a set of Faber Castell colour pencils from Artfriend. Honestly, i have NEVER set foot in an Artfriend store before i started school. But now, Artfriend is the only store i go to! (I'm exaggerating a little bit, if you can't tell.) Artfriend is really a good place to get your art materials. They have everything you might need. They are not that expensive (mostly) and on top of that, you get 10% off. AWESOME. There's also a store called Overjoyed selling art materials. I have not bought anything from there yet. But i love going there because there is a stairs slide near the store. That is always my main reason for going to Overjoyed.

I HAD THE BEST LIFE WHEN I WAS A KID. I was a cute kid, i was loved by everybody, life was just so much better! It is amazing how things can change so fast. 

I've always wanted to be a model eversince i was a little kid. (It's not funny guys :() I used to pose for the camera. I was always the first one to be in a picture. Like 'Who wants to take a picture?!' You can imagine me running towards the camera man. My mom would dress me up and made me look pretty. She'll tell me to look in the camera and smile. I was a cheeky girl, i loved to smile, take pictures. My 'growing up' album is full of the ones my mom took. Maybe i got it from my mom. She used to take a lot of pictures during her time. She was skinny back then, sadly i followed her footsteps after she got married. Maybe that is why i stopped taking full body pictures. My dream of modelling vanished into thin air.

After my sister was born, she stopped taking pictures of things. I loved the idea of taking random pictures of your day. It can be something you are able to look at when you're old. Technology is making things a little easier to do that, to be honest. But nothing is more precious than taking a picture with vintage disposable camera, i think.

Three cupcakes from Twelve Cupcakes

My little sister brought home cupcakes from Twelves Cupcakes. Yes it is no surprise that I have not eaten there before. Honestly, the taste was only.. Meh. Yes 'meh' is a feeling. It looks good appearance wise but i am not too sure about the taste. Maybe i have to try them again soon some day. Among these three cupcakes, my favourite would proably be the chocolate. I LOVE CHOCOLATE ANYTHING. If i could, i would like to be covered in chocolate so i can lick myself like a cat all the time. I hate cats but there you go, a cat reference for you. 

Coolest lecturer

Meet Mr Lee Yew Moon, my Language Arts lecturer. i think he is one of the coolest lecturer ever to teach me. He is honestly funny in his own way. He cracks joke while being indifferent which makes him hilarious. Although he is strict (more or less), i really enjoy going for his classes. He teaches me what i need to be taught in a good way. I think he's pretty badass.

But these two clowns, Kylie and Hubert never fails to crack me up every single lesson. We can joke about the littlest things and we'd go on for days. Truth be told, i am glad i met them. I am glad that i am comfortable around them.

GUESS WHO GOT HER BEANIE ON FRIDAY!!!!!!!! YES IT IS ME!!! You can probably tell how excited i am about my beanie from the use of  the exclamation marks. I am a recent lover of beanies, i currently own only four. I have been waiting for this beanie ever since it came out. If some of you don't know, this is from Rihanna's River Island collection. It says 'G4LIFE' at the front and 'RI-RI' at the back. As you can see, it's camo. I would usually go for black, so why not try something different? I can't wait to rock this out in school, when i am out with my friends, everywhere!

I have not been blogging for quite some time now.. Say goodbye to thirty posts by October 10!

But anyways, I have been so stressed out for this past few days. Honestly not too sure why. Feeling uninspired is one of them. Really questioning my stay in NAFA. Will I stay for long? I DON'T KNOW. It's so hard to find my own style or what i'm good at because i don't think i have any special talent. I remember one of my classmate saying, 'My teacher told me to set aside a minimum of three hours to practice drawing' I will start doing that soon. Just need to find time. 

What?

I've been too busy with school to do my own practice. I finally took a day off from all the hectic schedule i had to work on my portraits. As some of you guys might know, I wanna be a portrait artist one day. I want to be able to draw people realistically. I've started to have this little dream i'd like to achieve when i was in Sec 4 actually (not very long ago). I think it takes a lot of patience (and also skills), something i have to work on to be honest. I've done a few portraits, and not to brag at all, but i hope i'm getting there soon. I was drawing a lot during the June holiday because i had no school at that time. I slowly got the hang of it but with the help of grids, which i found to be very useful.

All you Miley fans should know what video is this from. It's from her new music video, Wrecking Ball!

Let's all talk about how great her new song is. I think it's pretty amazing. She sounds good vocally too. The lyrics especially hit some of us hard haha (Most of you would agree with me) The emotions she brought out could be felt by a lot of us. Some people would disagree though. But let's save it for later. Anyways, the video had a huge wrecking ball (duh) swing thing that tore down walls. If some of you guys don't get it, the walls represent her love for Liam (i'm guessing). There she was trying to show how she feels about things, stripped down to bits, how much it hurts her being in the situation she's in. She gotten a lot of positive and also negative feedback about her new video.

I personally love the song. I only understood the video after people came forward to talk about what it really meant. I'm not judging her or what she's doing with her life, but i just hope she will get all the help that she needs.

Gus Harper

Finally something art related you say?! Yes finally. 

This is the work of an artist named Gus Harper. This is one of his many work. My personal favourite of his! He has his own website where he showcases all his work. I'm in love with his work especially the ones where he uses the grids. I think the whole grid concept looks modern but also minimalistic. The way he paints the flowers / object he uses looks realistic which i would like to achieve when i'm doing my art. He also paints everyday objects like citrus and pine cones and also bodies and faces.

Friend

A good friend of mine bought me a chocolate cupcake from 'Twelve Cupcakes'. It tasted so good probably cos i could taste the sincerity (hahaha i'm so mushy like that) But anyways, she bought it for me because she knew what i was going through and that i was having a bad week. It was very sweet of her, i wish i could give her the biggest of hugs!! I honestly did not want to eat it cos it looked so good uneaten hahaha. But no amount of thank you-s can explain how much i love this little girl! 

You know who you are though ;)

Tutorial Week

I've been going to school every single day for tutorial week. From 11 am to 9 pm. It's pretty crazy, I'm too tired to even go home sometimes because i know the next day i'm coming back, so why not right?? But other than rushing my unfinished assignments, i had a great time 'bonding' with my classmates who came everyday too. We'd blast music, laugh at each other jokes, stress about our unfinished assignments, just like any other class would. It's great because not only do we get to finish them together, we'd also have fun! But i sorta wish that tutorial week would be more than a week maybe?

I used to have a blog (i still do, i just don't post anything anymore) so i honestly don't mind doing 30 posts by week 10? But come to think of it..... i wrecked my brain for just 5 posts. My brain is so tired hahahaha. I enjoy blogging about anything, basically. I have a little bit of limitation because it is a school blog anyways! But i'm so grateful that we can post about annnnyyyttthhhiingg in the world. If i have to stick to only one topic... God knows if i can make it alive when week 10 comes! 

Makeup gig

My title might be a little bit misleading because i am not some big shot makeup artist. 

A few months back, my aunt got remarried and she asked if i could do her makeup. Well I didn't want to because i had no confidence to do it but heck, why not! It wasn't a grand occasion or anything so *phew* it's all good! They knew how much i loved makeup and how i am so interested! I treated it as though she's my client (can someone say fancy talk!?) and tried to do my best. I sorta failed / passed because she didn't think that the colour i used on her the first time suited her outfit. Can't lie, i was a little bit shaky and clueless. But i guess in the end it all worked out because she looks pretty good to me!

If you would like to know how i did it, you could ask me! But there is nothing Youtube can't solve! ;)

 I guess i'm the type that is only confident in what i used (makeup wise) on my own face. I'm not confident enough to do it on others. Im afraid i might screw up maybe?! 

A for effort though, yes?

CoolA$$KidZ

School has been pretty hectic considering the endless assignments I've been getting. But nevertheless, it was an exciting week because i grew closer to my classmates. which is great! They are really a bunch of nice people, so blessed to have them in my life. 

Its crazy how people can stay so positive in such a not so good time. Being around them, just laughing all the time (but also doing our work of course ;)) keeps my mind off of the bad things. 

I sorta don't remember how we all got close.... oh right, we're all smoking buddies! Except for Valerie, Charlynn and Wan. Every time after class we would wait for each other to go for a smoke break. How fun! (haha) 

Aside from all these fun things, we'd look out for each other i guess. Especially for school wise. I am a very very slow/ unfocused /cant focus for shit/forgetful person so i would always need help. The best thing is, they're that group of people who will help you out if you need it. I don't even have to ask them for help, they would just offer it. *thumbs up* 

So yeah, right now I'm in a good place with my life. I'm happy and i guess that is all that matters.
